March-Seuss Madness!

March is such a busy month! We celebrate reading with Dr. Seuss, spring forward with Daylight Savings Time, remember Caesar on the Ides of March, love that the Vernal Equinox makes the days get longer and celebrate Easter in many special ways (this year may just be “minion egg” year for me!) Oh, and don’t forget the old standbys of March Madness and Luck of the Irish! Yup, its busy both in the library and out.

Next week, on the first Monday in March, we celebrate Read Across America Day (in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, which is on March 2nd.).

The Stillwater Classroom Teachers will pass out a Dr. Seuss bookmark to each student.

Here are a couple of links for Read Across America resources if you are interested in doing some activities at home:

Here is the note about two dress up days next week (Monday = Fox in Socks & Wednesday = The Best Nest) for next week:

The student council will be having 2 spirit days next week to commemorate Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!    Monday, 2/29,  will be “Fox in Socks” day so all students and staff are encouraged to wear crazy socks and Wednesday, 3/2, will be “The Best Nest” day otherwise known as Crazy Hair Day!   We will talk about these days over the announcements Friday morning and a note will be sent out for student folders as well as via Constant Contact this afternoon to Stillwater Families!

Stay tuned for photos of our Read Across America celebrations this week, and Happy Reading Friends!
